-*-*-*- Tips & Tricks -*-*-*-
Two tips for the price of one this issue!
- When hatching by the 'pick point' method in a large drawing,
performance may be less than acceptable. To help speed things along,
zoom in as close as possible so boundary desired fills the screen.
Also turn off all unnecessary layers and XREFs. The 'pick point'
method works by ray-tracing, which is basically analyzing all visible
entities. The fewer visible entities, the better your system's
performance.
- Have you ever wanted to WBLOCK an *entire* drawing out? - including
modelspace *and* paperspace entities? It's easy! When AutoCAD asks
for block name, respond with an asterisk ('*').

-*-*-*- Q & A -*-*-*-
Q: How do I know what object's elevation is being returned by an
'apparent intersection' OSNAP?
A: Like most things, it's easy once you know! When using the 'app'
OSNAP, use it in the 'extended' form for maximum control. By
'extended', I mean select one object then the other (as with
extended intersection), rather than snapping to the point with the
magnet feature. When you use the extended apparent intersection
(also abbreviated 'app'), the Z-value returned will be that of the
*first* entity selected.
