Project Base Maps

Example 1

Every developer wants and needs a professional and detailed base map.

A detailed base map allows the developer to:

Better understand and visualize the site
Determine viability of site
Be aware of existing conditions and account for them
Plan ahead for otherwise unforeseen complications
Present a comprehensive plan to investors and agencies

But this is not anything you did not already know. Most often, the reason for using poor quality or inaccurate base maps is a simple matter of economy. Few are able to justify the up-front costs involved in topographic surveys, title research and the like.

But when you are simply providing a map for illustrative purposes, large-scale overlays or preliminary site design, is all that really necessary?

Many have found that base maps produced from readily available data are more than adequate for these tasks. And if planned correctly, the large-coverage base map easily becomes the master drawing used for project design - continually evolving as field surveyed boundary and topographic data becomes available.

We can also provide a 3-dimensional representation of your site showing the project boundary as it follows the terrain for a small additional fee. (See Example 2 above.)
